Step 1 — Pick the right capacity for your family
A working rule for Dewas households: 1 kg of washing-machine capacity per family member, plus a 1–2 kg buffer for bedsheets, curtains and blankets. So a couple needs 6 kg, a family of 4 needs 7–8 kg, and a joint family of 6+ needs 9–10 kg.
Undersizing means you'll run 2 loads where 1 would do — wasting water, detergent and time. Oversizing wastes electricity and money upfront. Get this one number right before comparing anything else.
Step 2 — Semi-automatic, top-load or front-load?
Semi-automatic (₹9,000–15,000) is cheapest, uses very little water per load, and lets you control every step. Good for tight budgets, unstable water supply, or if you prefer washing 'the traditional way'. Two tubs — wash and spin — with manual clothes transfer.
Fully-automatic top-load (₹18,000–28,000) is the Dewas sweet spot. One-touch operation, good capacity, moderate water use, gentle on clothes. Best all-round pick for most families.
Front-load (₹28,000–50,000+) is premium — the gentlest on fabric, most water-efficient (uses 40% less water than top-load), best cleaning performance, in-built heater for stain removal. Choose front-load if you have consistent water supply and want a 10-year machine.
Step 3 — Water supply, RPM, star rating, features
Water supply matters more than most buyers realise. Front-load machines need consistent pressure — if your building runs on a bore-well pump with irregular flow, a top-load is a safer pick.
Spin RPM decides how dry clothes come out of the machine. 800–1000 RPM is fine for top-load, 1200 RPM+ is standard on front-load. Higher RPM = shorter drying time, especially useful in monsoon.
5-star inverter models save 25–35% electricity over 3-star — worth the ₹2,000–4,000 premium if you run 4+ loads a week. Look for in-built heater, steam wash, allergy-care and quick-wash cycles on premium models.
Step 4 — Brand and installation
For Dewas we recommend LG, Samsung, IFB, Whirlpool and Bosch as the top five reliable brands with strong service. LG and IFB lead on front-load motor durability. Whirlpool and Samsung lead on top-load value. Bosch is the premium engineering pick.
Free standard installation is included on every machine we sell — inlet/outlet connection, levelling and demo. If your existing tap or drain needs a plumber, we coordinate that too.
